All locations will have a static IPv6 address. This is intended to provide a means for more direct communications. For example, a remote worker can provide their IPv6 address as an authenticated address for logging into the business’s network. An IPv6 address will also be use for emergency services (such as 811, and 911) to do address lookup. When making a call to emergency services, the IP Address will be sent along with the call. This will allow a person that doesn’t live at the location they are at to call from, and not have to worry about providing an accurate address.
There are more than enough available IPv6 addresses, so there will be no issue on running out, even if the globe’s population becomes more unsustainable. A single person can have billions of IPv6 addresses, so having a static IP address is not going to be an issue as IPv4 address (ran out in 2019) have.
