Once the government takes over the telephone network, all accounts will be moved to SIP standard for terristrial telephones. Any current POTS phones will need ATAs, or upgrade to a SIP phone. The subscriber can find their SIP credentials by logging into their phone provider’s website, and select the Telephone tab, and then select the number that would be SIP. Any current phone jacks should be replaced with RJ45 as this will be needed for ATAs, and most SIP phones.
Cellular phones must support VOLTE and 5G connectivity. No basic cellular phones will be sold in Kaldus since these phones aren’t likely to comply with NSC. Therefore any purchases of basic phones while supported by the cellular carrier, will likely have to be purchased online. All cellular phones must be unlocked. It would be illegal to lock a phone to a particular carrier. This is because the subscriber is buying the phone. Unless the phone is actually free – the phone can not be promoted as free. If there are service credits on a payment plan that takes 3 years to complete, then this will be required to be disclosed. Therefore, there will likely not be any “free” phones. Free is to be given with no conditions.
